Early 612 MR till Spring
The Heroes delve deeper into the stronghold, and are ambushed by Dunmudden and his pet gorgon. Sigurd, Michael, Tannen, and Hrothwulf are turned to stone by the fearsome beast. All seems lost, when Jasmine makes her appearance, accompanied by a stranger carrying a finely crafter harp. The man is actually known to Michael, a misterious traveller that names himself Ashan.
Together they manage to kill the gorgon, and subdue Dunmudden. The Heroes retrieve a magical salve that turns Hrothwulf and Michael back to flesh, but Sigurd and Tannen seem doomed to remain statues.
The Heroes hide in the many secret passages guarding Dunmudden's treasure, and take part of it, most importantly a magical bag of holding, that enables them to carry their petrified companions, and the amulet they came here for in the first place. In the meanwhile, Ashan seems to have disappeared.
The Heroes force Dunmudden to show them a way out of the compound, and eventually leave the dark dwarf behind, making their way to the surface. They seal the peace between the clans, and return to Midjarna.
There they secure their petrified friends, hoping to find a way to bring them back to life. Even though spring is at the door, the cold seems to intensify, and the snow does not melt. Jasmine fears foul play and powerful magic from the White Witch.
Hrothwulf, grieving his lost friends, settles at the Old Fort in Lemnjohen, and with the help of the Emerald Spire, the region is invested to him.
